Crypto Liquidity Pools Explained: How to Earn Trading Fees
A liquidity pool is a shared pot of assets that traders swap against. Providers earn a cut of every trade that touches the pool. Here is how pools work, how earnings are generated, and how to provide liquidity on NonKYC pools.
How liquidity pools work
- A pool holds two assets in proportion. Traders swap one for the other; each swap pays a fee that is distributed among liquidity providers.
- The pool's price is set by its balance: heavy buying of one asset pushes its price up, and vice versa.
- This is what enables instant fills without waiting for a counterparty to appear on the order book.
Earnings and impermanent loss
- Your share of fees scales with your share of the pool and with trading volume.
- Impermanent loss is the opportunity cost of pooling versus simply holding: if the price ratio changes, the pool rebalances your position against the move.
- Fees often — but not always — compensate for that loss. High-volume pools in ranging markets are the healthiest.
Getting started on NonKYC
- Pick a pool on the pools page — compare volume, fee rate and current yields.
- Deposit both assets in the required ratio; the interface shows the exact amounts.
- Withdraw any time — liquidity is not locked. Track your earned fees in the pool view.
Frequently asked questions
Is providing liquidity risk-free?
No. Impermanent loss and asset price risk apply; only fees are earned, not price appreciation guarantees.
Can I withdraw at any time?
Yes — NonKYC pools do not lock liquidity.
